Introduce someone to Finvo, earn 10% to 15% of a full year of their fees

Know a business owner, a friend or a client who could use steadier books? Send them your referral link. When they become a Finvo client, you earn 10% of a full year of their Finvo fees, or 15% if you're already a Finvo client. There is no cap on how many people you refer.

How it works

Three steps, no forms to chase

Your link does the remembering. If it can't, the person you refer just names you.

Create your link

Fill in your name and email below. Your link appears right away: finvo.ca/r/ followed by your own short code. Keep it; it works for every person you refer.

Share it

Text it, email it or say it out loud. If the person you refer visits through your link and signs up within 90 days on the same device and browser, the link does the remembering. If they clear their browser or use another device, they can simply name you when they sign up.

Get paid

Once the person you referred has paid their third monthly invoice on a monthly plan (or the invoice for a one-time service), we pay your reward by e-transfer or as a credit on your Finvo account, within 30 days of the client paying the invoice or the services being delivered, whichever is later.

Not sure what they need? Everything starts with the same free 15-minute call; prices are on the pricing page and are confirmed before any work starts.

    Post it

Share a public post about Finvo on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. Say it in your own words, or start from one of the examples below, and include a clear line saying you get a credit for it.

    Email us

Send support@finvo.ca a screenshot of your post and its link, with the name on your Finvo account.

    We add the credit

We add $5 to your Finvo account for each credited post, up to 3 a year ($15 a year in total), and track your credits in your own account. The credit goes against your Finvo fees.

    The rules for post credits

    • Finvo clients only.
    • Up to 3 post credits a year, $5 each ($15 a year in total), for public posts about Finvo on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, tracked in your own Finvo account.
    • The post must be public. Please keep it up for at least 30 days.
    • Say that you are rewarded, first. Start the post with a clear disclosure of the post credit and the referral reward, such as "#ad: I get a credit from Finvo for this post, and a referral reward if you become a client through my link."
    • Credits go against Finvo fees only: they are not paid out as cash and don't cover government fees.
    • Keep it honest. Share your own experience, and please don't promise tax results or refunds. Finvo may decline posts that are private, break the platform's rules, or are copies, meaning a repost or share of someone else's post; starting from one of our ready-to-post messages is fine.

    Why the disclosure matters

Canada's Competition Act requires a paid or credited endorsement to say so. A credit from Finvo counts, and so does the referral reward your link can earn, so every post needs a clear line covering both, such as "#ad: I get a credit from Finvo for this post, and a referral reward if you become a client through my link." Put it at the start, where people will see it first, not buried in a block of hashtags or only in your profile.

    Rules

    The rules, in plain words

Ten short rules. If anything is unclear, ask us before you refer.

    1. Anyone can refer: a Finvo client, a friend, another business owner, or a professional such as a lawyer, realtor or mortgage broker.
    2. Existing clients earn 15%; everyone else earns 10%. "Existing client" means you have an active Finvo membership, or we completed paid work for you in the last 12 months, when the person you referred signs up.
    3. The reward is on a full year of Finvo fees only: 12 months of the referred client's monthly fee, or the fee for a one-time service, before GST. Never on government fees, reimbursements or third-party costs we pass through, such as registry fees or software.
    4. Monthly plans: we pay after the referred client has paid their third monthly invoice, as one payment on a full year (12 months) of the fee they are paying at that point. If they leave earlier, you keep it. One-time services: we pay after the invoice is paid. We pay within 30 days of the client paying the invoice or the services being delivered, whichever is later. If the services aren't delivered, the client can ask for a refund, and no reward is paid.
    5. Rewards are paid by e-transfer or as a credit on your Finvo account, whichever you prefer. We issue tax slips where the law requires.
    6. No cap on the number of people you refer. One-time services such as an incorporation or a tax return count.
    7. No self-referrals. You can't refer yourself or a business you own, and the person you refer must be new to Finvo: not a current client, and not someone we are already working with.
    8. A referral is credited when the new client arrives through your link (90 days, same device and browser) or names you when they sign up. If two people could claim the same referral, the new client's answer decides.
    9. Their business stays theirs. We don't share the referred client's details or fees with you beyond confirming your reward.
    10. Finvo decides disputes in good faith. We may change or end the program; rewards already earned stand. See also our terms and privacy policy.

Rules as of 30 October 2026. Prices in Canadian dollars, before GST.

    Questions

    Referrals, answered

Who can refer someone to Finvo?

Anyone. Existing clients, friends, other business owners, and professionals such as lawyers, realtors and mortgage brokers. You can't refer yourself or a business you own, and the person you refer must be new to Finvo.

    How much is the reward?

15% if you're an existing Finvo client, 10% for everyone else, of a full year of the Finvo fees the person you referred signs up for, before GST: 12 months of their monthly fee, or the fee for a one-time service. If they stay for five years, the reward is still on one year only.

    What counts as Finvo fees?

What the client pays Finvo for our own work: a monthly membership, a Fractional CFO plan, a tax return or an incorporation fee. Government fees, reimbursements and third-party costs we pass through, such as registry fees or software, never count.

    When do I get paid?

For monthly plans, after the person you referred has paid their third monthly invoice. It is one payment on a full year (12 months) of the monthly fee they are paying at that point, and you keep it even if they leave before the year is up. For one-time services, after their invoice is paid. We pay within 30 days of the client paying the invoice or the services being delivered, whichever is later. If the services aren't delivered, the client can ask for a refund, and no reward is paid.

Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?

No. Refer as many people as you like; each one earns its own reward.

    Do one-time services count?

Yes. An incorporation from $149 or a personal tax return from $60 earns the same rate on the Finvo fee, once the invoice is paid.

What if the person I referred didn't use my link?

They can simply name you when they sign up, on the free call, in the contact form or in the chat. The link is a convenience, not a condition.

How does the link remember who referred them?

When someone opens your link, their browser stores your code for 90 days. If they sign up within that time on the same device and browser, the code comes through with their enquiry and we credit you. If they clear their browser or use another device, the memory is gone, so they should name you instead.

    How is the reward paid?

By e-transfer, or as a credit on your Finvo account if you're a client, whichever you prefer. We issue tax slips where the law requires.

What if two people referred the same client?

We ask the new client who introduced them and go with their answer. Finvo decides any dispute in good faith.

Can I get credit for posting about Finvo?

Yes, for Finvo clients only: up to 3 post credits a year at $5 each, $15 a year in total, tracked in your own Finvo account. Share a public post about Finvo on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn, email support@finvo.ca a screenshot and the post's link, and we add a $5 credit to your Finvo account. The credit goes against Finvo fees, not cash or government fees. Ready-to-post messages are on our post ideas page.

Do I need to say I got a credit?

Yes. Canada's Competition Act requires a paid or credited endorsement to say so, and Finvo rewards you twice: a credit for the post, and a referral reward if someone becomes a client through your link. So your post needs a clear disclosure of both at the start, such as "#ad: I get a credit from Finvo for this post, and a referral reward if you become a client through my link." Put it where people will see it first, not buried in a block of hashtags. We can't credit a post without one.

    How many posts count?

Up to 3 post credits a year, $5 each, so $15 a year in total, whichever platform you post on. We track them in your own Finvo account. Finvo may decline posts that are private, break the platform's rules, or are copies, meaning a repost or share of someone else's post; starting from one of our ready-to-post messages is fine.

More general questions are on the FAQ page; our services are explained under bookkeeping, payroll and the personal membership.
